The New York Islanders and forward Josh Ho-Sang have avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $700,000.

Ho-Sang, who’s 24 years old, spent the entire season in the AHL, splitting the year between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and San Antonio Rampage. Ho-Sang managed four goals and 13 points in 22 games overall.

Despite the contract extension, Ho-Sang’s future with the organization doesn’t look overly bright. He didn’t play a single game with the Islanders this past season and hasn’t played more than 10 NHL games in a season in two years. Ho-Sang also asked for a trade about a year ago and according to The Athletic’s Arthur Staple, Lou Lamoriello recently said “we’ll have to see” as to whether or not Ho-Sang has a future with the Islanders.

The arbitration hearing would’ve taken place on October 30.
