The New York Islanders have signed defenseman Ryan Pulock to an eight-year contract extension, which will begin in the 2022-23 season. According to The Athletic’s Arthur Staple, the deal will carry a $6.15 million cap hit.
Ryan Pulock's eight-year extension worth $6.15-million per season. No signing bonuses in any year, straight salary every season until 2029-30.
Pulock is 27 years old and is still under contract at a $5 million cap hit for the upcoming season. Last season, he scored two goals and 17 points in 56 games and has scored 125 points in 290 career NHL games with the Islanders.
I’ll have an article out tomorrow analyzing this deal but this is a huge win for the Islanders. To have their top pairing locked up for the foreseeable future at under $12 million combined will keep the team competitive for a very long time.
