The New York Islanders’ game against the Buffalo Sabres scheduled for tonight has been postponed.
#Isles News: The National Hockey League announced that tonight’s Buffalo Sabres vs. NY Islanders game is being postponed due to the League’s COVID Protocol. Due to weather conditions yesterday, the Sabres altered their travel schedule so as to fly today to New York.
The decision comes as a result of weather affecting COVID protocols for the Sabres. A snowstorm delayed the Sabres’ flight, which affected testing and tracing for the team. Buffalo played New Jersey twice this past weekend but yesterday, the Devils had their next three games postponed, due to COVID concerns.
This is the first of New York’s games to be postponed as a result of COVID protocols. However, there is still a game against the Sabres scheduled for Thursday night.
UPDATE: Buffalo's games have been postponed through Feb. 8, meaning the Islanders vs. Sabres game on Thursday will be postponed as well.
