The Los Angeles Kings placed defenseman Christian Wolanin on waivers today.

Wolanin is 26 years old and was originally acquired from the Ottawa Senators last season, in exchange for forward Mike Amadio. He played three games with the Kings last season and was listed on the team’s roster to start this season, but didn’t play in the opening game against the Vegas Golden Knights last night.

With Wolanin being waived, it’s likely that Olli Maatta will be activated from injured reserve. It also seems unlikely that Wolanin will be claimed off waivers.
