The New York Islanders may have been missing their first and second round picks in this year's NHL Draft after deals at the trade deadline, however, they still made five selections from rounds 3-7 yesterday.

Here’s a list of all players drafted by the Islanders, as well as a quick description on each player.

3rd Round: 90th Overall: Alexander Ljungkrantz (F)
4th Round: 121st Overall: Alex Jefferies (F)
5th Round: 152nd Overall: William Dufour (F)
6th Round, 183rd Overall: Matias Rajaniemi (D)
7th Round, 214th Overall: Henrik Tikkanen (G)

Alexander Ljungkrantz- His numbers were alright in Sweden’s J20 SuperElit league this past season and he was ranked by many to go quite a bit later in the draft. He’s listed as a 6-foot-1 winger.

Alex Jefferies- Jefferies is a right-shooting winger who spent the majority of his 2019-20 season playing high school hockey, where he scored 33 goals and 69 points in just 32 games.

William Dufour- Splitting last season between Chicoutimi and Drummondville in the QMJHL, Dufour managed a combined 28 goals and 55 points in 59 games. He stands at 6-foot-3, weighs 200 pounds, and this year, he already has three points in his first two games of the season.

Matias Rajaniemi- Another big player, Rajaniemi is already 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds. He’s a left-handed defenseman who spent the majority of last season playing Jr. A hockey in Finland, where he had 17 points in 39 games.

Henrik Tikkanen- Tikkanen is a 20-year-old goaltender who also spent last year playing Jr. A hockey in Finland. His numbers weren’t great, averaging an .895 save percentage in 39 games.
