Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I’m a day late, but here are the poll results from articles on the exhibition game, as well as Game 1, and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: The Rangers were a good opponent for the Islanders’ exhibition game:

(Votes: 53)

Agree: 85%
Disagree: 15%

I was really happy the Rangers were the opponent for the exhibition game, because they had relatively similar strengths and weaknesses to the Panthers. Their offense can be deadly and you don’t want to give them too many good chances, however, their defense leaves something to be desired.

QUESTION: Were you happy with the Islanders’ play against the Rangers?

(Votes: 107)

Yes: 87%
No: 13%

The game happened nearly a week ago now, but I think the Islanders’ exhibition matchup against the Rangers went really well. They still gave up some good chances but the Islanders were strong defensively and were the better team overall.

QUESTION: The Islanders will win Game 1:

(Votes: 59)

Yes: 93%
No: 7%

And they did!

QUESTION: Was Anthony Beauvillier New York’s best player in Game 1?

(Votes: 78)

Yes: 94%
No: 6%

I think Beauvillier has been the best player on the team in both Game 1 and the exhibition game against the Rangers. He’s been all over the ice, has created more quality chances than anyone else and has been a huge part of the second line’s success.
