Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.
QUESTION: How many points do you expect from Ryan Getzlaf next season?
(Votes: 136)
Less than 40 points: 33%
40-50 points: 32%
50-60 points: 29%
More than 60 points: 5%
Like the votes suggest, I think it could really go anywhere here. The only option I’d say is unlikely is Getzlaf scoring more than 60 points, as he hasn’t hit that pace in the last two seasons and isn't getting any younger.
QUESTION: What save percentage do you expect from John Gibson next season?
(Votes: 56)
Between .915 and .920: 54%
Above .920: 29%
Between .910 and .915: 9%
Below .910: 9%
Gibson had a bit of a down year but he’s certainly had a strong enough career to earn himself some leeway. I’d imagine he bounces back next season, even if Anaheim’s defense isn’t overly strong, and Gibson posting between a .915 and .920 save percentage next season seems quite likely.
QUESTION: How did you feel about Erik Gudbranson's play with the Ducks this season compared to expectations when he was acquired?
(Votes: 92)
Happy with it: 60%
Didn’t feel strongly either way: 32%
Not happy with it: 9%
Gudbranson certainly didn’t come to Anaheim with the best reputation, but he performed as well as anyone could’ve expected him to. He’s not a top-four defenseman but he was at least decent in the role and could probably perform quite well on the bottom pairing.
