Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I'm late on this one, but here are last week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: If Ryan Miller plays next season, where do you think he’ll finish on the all-time wins list (currently at 387 wins)?

(Votes: 202)

Only passes Dominik Hasek for 14th (389 wins): 49%
Passes Chris Osgood for 13th (401 wins): 28%
Passes Grant Fuhr for 12th (403 wins): 14%
Passes Glenn Hall for 11th (407 wins): 9%

Considering the fact that Miller would need 15 wins to pass Osgood for 13th, I’d say it’s unlikely. Miller hasn’t done that since 2016-17 when he was playing with Vancouver, where he played in 54 games that year. With Anaheim, he has yet to play more than 28 games in a season and I’d imagine unless John Gibson gets injured, he’s probably not surpassing Osgood, or anyone other than Hasek.

QUESTION: Do you think the Ducks will be a playoff team in 2020-21?

(Votes: 90)

No: 87%
Yes: 13%

I hate being negative, but to me, there are just too many weak spots in the lineup and Anaheim can’t simply rely on John Gibson to drag them into the playoffs. There’s always a chance but their prospects haven’t developed enough yet and the Ducks don’t have enough legitimate top-six forwards for it to be a likely scenario.

QUESTION: Who do you think won the Henrique/Vatanen trade?

(Votes: 289)

Both teams won: 47%
Anaheim: 42%
New Jersey: 10%
Both teams lost: 2%

I’m definitely on board with the idea that both teams won in the trade but I was surprised to see 42 per cent of voters saying that the Ducks definitively won the trade. I can assume a reason there is that Henrique is still with the Ducks while Vatanen was traded to Carolina, but the Devils got back a nice prospect in return.

QUESTION: Do you feel confident in Anaheim’s depth on the left side of their defense?

(Votes: 38)

Yes: 79%
No: 21%

The Ducks certainly have several holes in their lineup but the left side of their defense group isn’t one of them, as 79 per cent of readers voted. Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, Christian Djoos, Jacob Larsson, Brendan Guhle, Josh Mahura and now Kodie Curran? That’s a pretty good look.
