Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: How many points do you expect from Timo Meier next season?

(Votes: 86)

60-70 points: 55%
More than 70 points: 24%
50-60 points: 16%
Less than 50 points: 5%

Like the poll suggests, I think 60-70 points is the most likely range for Meier. That said, he is just 23 years old and there’s still a possibility that if he continues to improve, he could up his production in the coming years.

QUESTION: Do you hope the Sharks re-sign Stefan Noesen?

(Votes: 58)

Yes: 55%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 28%
No: 17%

I was pretty surprised to see so many readers voting that they want to see Noesen brought back. To me, he was pretty decent this year but considering he’s unlikely to be with the team long-term, there’s a great chance the Sharks could find a cheap replacement with a higher ceiling or give that spot in the lineup to a developing prospect.

QUESTION: Is Radim Simek capable of taking a spot in the top-four going forward?

(Votes: 42)

Yes: 74%
No: 26%

Another poll that I was pretty surprised by. I’m not saying Simek won’t be capable but I am at least a bit skeptical. Considering he’s a player that prioritizes defense but doesn’t produce much offense, however, it does help that he’d likely be paired with Brent Burns, who can add enough offense for the both of them.
