Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: How do you feel about Dylan Gambrell’s rookie season?

(Votes: 54)

Not happy with how it went: 50%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 39%
Happy with how it went: 11%

I think these results are pretty fair. Gambrell was viewed as one of the team’s better prospects coming into the year but struggled to make an impact at the NHL level. Assuming he’s with the Sharks on a full-time basis next season, he’s going to need to take a big step in his development if he wants to stick around on a long-term basis.

QUESTION: If Noah Gregor plays full-time with the Sharks next season, how many points do you expect from him?

(Votes: 62)

15-20 points: 29%
More than 25 points: 27%
20-25 points: 23%
Less than 15 points: 21%

Pretty mixed results here. Really, we have no idea what to expect from Gregor production-wise, based on the small sample size we have to go off of from this year. That said, he’s only 21 years old and we have to be patient with his development, especially considering he was rushed into taking a spot with the Sharks this season.

QUESTION: Do you hope the Sharks re-sign Tim Heed?

(Votes: 44)

Yes: 57%
No: 43%

It’s certainly not a necessity that the Sharks bring Heed back for another season. He’s 29 years old, so if there’s the option to get younger or upgrade for cheap, the Sharks have to take it. If there’s no better option, however, he can take on a small role and do it fairly effectively.
