Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. Here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: Are you happy with how much progress the Kings have made in their rebuild thus far?

(Votes: 194)

Yes: 75%
No: 25%

From the time the Kings made the Jake Muzzin trade, they’ve executed their rebuild extremely well. They’ve moved all the aging pieces that they needed to and now not only do they have a large prospect pool, but they've also stockpiled picks for the next two drafts. While the rebuild isn’t complete yet, they’ve certainly done most of the heavy lifting at this point and have set themselves up well for the future.

QUESTION: Who do you think won the Lucic trade?

(Votes: 415)

Both teams lost: 51%
Bruins: 38%
Kings: 7%
Both teams won: 4%

I think there could be two schools of thought here. If it’s based on what each team got at the time, I think the Bruins won this based on what they got back for Lucic. However, if it’s based on how the trade helped each accomplish what their goal was– which, for the Kings was making another deep playoff run and for the Bruins, it was acquiring players who could help down the road– neither team got their desired outcome from this deal.

QUESTION: Which of these trades are you least happy with?

(Votes: 325)

Kubalik for a fifth-round pick: 40%
Kuemper for Rieder/Wedgewood: 35%
Pearson for Hagelin: 25%

I like Blake quite a bit but none of these trades are great looking back. Kubalik is likely to become a legitimate top-six forward, Pearson is having success as well, while Kuemper has turned into a great starting goalie. Those are three pretty solid assets the Kings gave up and all they have to show for from the deals are Lukas Parik (a third-round pick in 2019) and Kim Nousiainen (a fourth-round pick in 2019).
