Ryan Getzlaf has been announced as a finalist for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy.

The award is given to a player who “exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

He was nominated alongside Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse and New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban.

Getzlaf retired following a final home game against the St. Louis Blues on April 24, playing 56 games this season. He spent his entire career with the Ducks, playing 17 seasons and 1157 games and scoring 282 goals and 1019 points. Getzlaf had been the team’s captain since 2010.
