Sharks re-sign Rudolfs Balcers and Joachim Blichfeld

The San Jose Sharks announced today that they’ve re-signed forwards Rudolfs Balcers and Joachim Blichfeld.


Balcers’ new deal is two years in length and carries a $1.55 million cap hit. Balcers is 24 years old and was claimed off waivers by the Sharks at the start of the season, scoring eight goals and 17 points in 41 games with San Jose.

Blichfeld is 23 years old and signed a one-year extension, with a $750,000 cap hit. He played in five games with the Sharks this season but spent most of the year with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda, where he had 12 goals and 22 points in 25 games.
