Robins was selected 56th overall by the Sharks in this year’s NHL draft. He spent the 2019-20 season with the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades, where he registered 33 goals and 73 points in 62 games. With the deal, Robins becomes the second member of the 2020 draft class to sign an entry-level contract with the Sharks, after first-round pick Ozzy Wiesblatt signed a deal shortly after the draft.
Robins still has a year of WHL eligibility remaining and should return to the Blades, should the 2020-21 WHL season take place.
