Carolina Hurricanes prospect Ryan Suzuki has been named to Canada’s final roster for the 2021 World Junior Championship.

Suzuki was selected 28th overall by the Hurricanes in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft. This will be his first time representing Canada at the tournament.

While Suzuki made the team, Hurricanes prospects Seth Jarvis and Jamieson Rees were both cut from the team. Jarvis was selected 13th overall by the Hurricanes in this year’s NHL Draft, while Rees was selected 44th overall by the Hurricanes in last year's draft. Jarvis will still be eligible to represent Canada in next year’s tournament, however, this was the final year of eligibility for Rees.
