While fans of the Carolina Hurricanes certainly have their attention set on the playoffs, three members of the organization also earned medals at this year’s World Hockey Championship.

Prospect Jack Drury won Bronze with the United States, who defeated Germany in the Bronze Medal game. Drury was selected 42nd overall by Carolina in 2018 and scored two goals in nine games in the tournament.

Oliwer Kaski and Saku Maenalanen, who aren’t under contract with the Hurricanes but are both on the team’s reserve list (according to CapFriendly.com), also took home Silver with Finland. Kaski played in the KHL this year after being acquired by Carolina in a trade in late 2019, while Maenalanen was drafted by the Hurricanes in 2013 but like Kaski, he spent only a single year playing professional hockey in North America, before heading back to Europe.
