Los Angeles Kings prospects Tobias Bjornfot and Helge Grans have been named to Sweden’s preliminary roster for the 2021 World Junior Championship.

Bjornfot, a left-handed defenseman, was selected 22nd overall by the Kings in the 2019 NHL Draft and spent last season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, where he scored six goals and 19 points in 44 games.

He’s spent the beginning of the season in the SHL and has three points in 14 games.

Grans, a right-handed defenseman, was taken 35th overall by the Kings in this year’s draft and is also playing in the SHL. He’s scored seven points in 15 games so far this season.

Bjornfot was a member of Sweden’s World Junior team last year and is in his final year or eligibility, while Grans did not play in last year’s tournament but will have the opportunity to compete for a spot next year as well.
