Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras has been named a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHL's rookie of the year.

Zegras played in 75 NHL games with the Ducks this season, registering 23 goals and 61 points. Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Michael Bunting were also named as finalists.

In other news, the Anaheim Ducks announced yesterday that they’ve relieved Joel Bouchard of his duties as head coach of the AHL’s San Diego Gulls. Assistant coaches Daniel Jacob and Max Talbot were also fired. Bouchard, Jacob and Talbot had spent only one season with the Gulls, with the team posting a 28-33-4 record and being eliminated in the first round.

Anaheim Ducks assistant coach Geoff Ward has also left the club due to personal reasons. Ward had also spent just a single year as assistant coach of the Ducks.
