The Anaheim Ducks signed a top prospect to an entry-level deal contract week. Here are the updates:

DUCKS SIGN JACOB PERREAULT

The Anaheim Ducks signed Jacob Perreault this week, who they selected 27th overall in this year’s NHL Draft. Perreault is likely to return to the Sarnia Sting, once the OHL season begins.

LUNDESTROM STARTING STRONG IN SWEDEN

Ducks prospect Isac Lundestrom is off to a great start in Sweden. He has five goals and 10 points in 10 games, playing in Sweden’s second-highest professional league.

As for this week’s poll questions, here are the results and my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: How many points do you expect from Kevin Shattenkirk next season?

(Votes: 74)

35-40 points: 43%
30-35 points: 27%
More than 40 points: 15%
Less than 30 points: 15%

I also think it’s likely we see Shattenkirk around 40 points again next season. Considering he’ll get a fairly large role with the Ducks, he’ll have a great opportunity to produce.

QUESTION: What do you expect Jacob Perreault's long-term role with the Ducks to be?

(Votes: 82)

Top-six forward: 66%
Middle-six forward: 26%
Bottom-six forward: 6%
Doesn’t make/stay in the NHL: 2%

Given how well Perreault has been able to produce at the NHL level, I certainly think he has top-six potential in the NHL. He's still a few years away from joining the Ducks but Perreault does have a high ceiling.
