The Carolina Hurricanes went 1-3-0 last week and were without a notable defenseman for multiple games. Here’s a recap of news and notes from last week.
HURRICANES LOSE THREE OF FOUR GAMES
The Hurricanes didn’t end the month of February the way they would’ve liked, losing three of four games last week. They dropped all three games of their to the Tampa Bay Lightning, going 1-3 in the series overall, before defeating the Florida Panthers in a shootout on Saturday.
GARDINER INJURED, TERAVAINEN STILL SIDELINED
Defenseman Jake Gardiner suffered an upper-body injury last week, which forced him to miss games. Forward Teuvo Teravainen is also still out with a concussion and we don’t know how long it’ll be before he returns.
JARVIS OFF TO GREAT START IN AHL
Seth Jarvis, who the Hurricanes selected 13th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, is off to a great start with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves. Jarvis has seven goals and 11 points in his first nine games of the season and currently leads the league in points.
