The Los Angeles Kings didn't manage to pick up a win last week, though two young forwards each scored their first NHL goal. Here's our recap of news and notes from last week.

KINGS LOSE ALL THREE GAMES

The Los Angeles Kings lost all three games last week, dropping a game to the Anaheim Ducks, before being swept in their two-game series against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Kings now find themselves on a four-game losing streak.

KALIYEV AND STRAND EACH PLAY FIRST NHL GAME

Forward Arthur Kaliyev and defenseman Austin Strand each played their first NHL game this week. Kaliyev played a single game against the Ducks, while Strand played in both games against Vegas.

ANDERSON-DOLAN AND KALIYEV EACH SCORE FIRST NHL GOAL

Forwards Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Arthur Kaliyev each scored their first NHL goal this week. Kaliyev scored in his first NHL game against the Anaheim Ducks, while Anderson-Dolan scored against Vegas yesterday.

As for our poll questions, here are some of the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: Were you happy with Arthur Kaliyev's performance in his first NHL game?

(Votes: 94)

Yes: 94%
No: 6%

Kaliyev scored the lone goal of the game and while it wasn’t pretty, he did have to battle to get to the front of the net. He also got a decent amount of ice time, playing nearly 15 minutes in the loss.

QUESTION: Are you happy with Kale Clague's performance so far this season?

(Votes: 54)

Yes: 48%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 33%
No: 19%

Considering he had only played four NHL games heading into the season, Clague is starting quite well. He’ll still need to get stronger, as he can get bumped off the puck in battles along the boards but generally, he’s been quite decent.
