The Los Angeles Kings played three games this week and currently hold a 1-2-2 record. Here’s the weekly recap.

KINGS PICK UP FIRST WIN OF SEASON, LOSE TWO OTHER GAMES

The Los Angeles Kings split their two-game series with the Colorado Avalanche this week, losing the first game 3-2, then winning the second one by a score of 4-2. The Kings did suffer a loss against the St. Louis Blues yesterday, however, and will face the Blues once again tonight.

LIAS ANDERSSON PLAYS FIRST GAME WITH KINGS

Lias Andersson, who the Kings acquired in the offseason, played his first game with the Kings this week in the team’s loss against the Avalanche on Tuesday. He played the two games later in the week as well but has yet to register a point.

As for this week’s poll questions, here are some of the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: Are you happy with Andreas Athanasiou’s performance thus far?

(Votes: 106)

Yes: 92%
No: 8%

There shouldn’t be much of a debate here. Athanasiou has four points in the first five games of the season and scored a goal in each of the first three games to start the year. So far, he’s been a great addition.

QUESTION: Do you think Lias Andersson will earn a full-time role in the Kings’ lineup this season?

(Votes: 54)

Yes: 57%
No: 43%

I think Andersson will be afforded every chance possible to earn a role with the Kings. It’ll likely be a matter of whether or not he’s able to take advantage of the opportunity.

QUESTION: Are you in favour of Adrian Kempe playing on the top line?

(Votes: 43)

Yes: 88%
No: 12%

Kempe will add speed to the first line and with a rebuilding team, there’s not much harm in trying out different line combinations. That said, Kempe is unlikely to a long-term member of the top line.

QUESTION: Are you happy with the Kings’ start to the season?

(Votes: 71)

Yes: 72%
No: 28%

This question was asked before the loss to the Blues, in the interest of transparency. Despite not picking up wins, however, the Kings have been competitive in every game so far and there are positives to be taken away from the start to the season.
