On 1960s/1970s Throwback Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center, John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (4-2-0) will host Paul Maurice's Florida Panthers (4-2-1). Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT.

This is the second of three meetings between the teams this season. The season series will conclude on March 21 with another game in Philadelphia.

On Oct. 19 in Sunrise, the Panthers defeated the Flyers, 4-3. Philadelphia overcame a 2-0 deficit to get the game to the third period tied at 2-2. However, the Panthers forged ahead again in the third period; this time to stay.

The Flyers enter this game coming off a 4-2 home loss on Sunday to the San Jose Sharks. James van Riemsdyk suffered a broken finger, will undergo surgery on Friday, and has been placed on Injured Reserve. He is expected to miss roughly a month. Owen Tippett (suspected concussion) and Rasmus Ristolainen (hip) have been activated from IR and both will be in the lineup for Thursday's game. For Tippett, it will be his first game against his former team since the trade that sent him to Philadelphia in the Claude Giroux deal.

Tanner Laczynski will not be with the team on Thursday. He and wife Madison are awaiting the birth of their first child. The Flyers will dress seven defensemen and 11 forwards. Carter Hart is in goal.

The Panthers are coming off a 4-2 road loss on Tuesday to the Chicago Blackhawks. Florida fell into a 3-0 hole and was unable to get itself going until a too-little-too-late blitz in the third period fell a goal short of tying the game. An empty net goal by Jonathan Toews sealed the final score.

Veteran Eric Staal will be in the Panthers' lineup on Thursday, joining his brother, defenseman Marc Staal, in the Panthers' lineup. Former Flyers forward Nick Cousins will exit the Panthers' lineup. The Panthers remain without injured No. 1 defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Sergei Bobrovsky will get the start in net against his former team.
