Game 9 Preview: Flyers @ Rangers
John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (5-2-1) are in Manhattan on Tuesday to take on Gerard Gallant's New York Rangers (5-3-2). Game time at Madison Square Garden is 7:00 p.m. EDT.
The Flyers are playing the first game of a three-game road trip and the front end of a back-to-back. They'll travel to Toronto immediately after this game and then visit the Maple Leafs on Wednesday evening.
On Saturday in Philadelphia, the Flyers spotted the Carolina Hurricanes a 2-0 lead before Philly rallied for goals by Nicolas Deslauriers (1st), Owen Tippett (PPG, 1st) and Wade Allison (2nd) to take a one-goal lead. Carolina re-tied the score in the latter stages of regulation and then down the Flyers, 4-3, in sudden death overtime at 3-on-3.
The Rangers wrapped up a three-game road trip (2-1-0) on Saturday with a 3-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Alexis Lafreniere (2nd), Artemi Panarin (5th) and Mika Zibanejad (PPG, 6th) tallied for New York.
