Game 45 Preview: Flyers vs. Ducks
John Tortorella's Philadelphia Flyers (18-19-7) are home on Tuesday evening to host Dallas Eakins' Anaheim Ducks (12-27-5). Game time is 7:00 p.m. ET.
Both teams are playing the second game of a back-to-back set. The Flyers were on the wrong end of a
6-0 blowout on the road on Monday against the Boston Bruins. The Ducks are coming off a 4-3 overtime road loss in a game they end entering the final minute or regulation but couldn't close. On the first shift of overtime, Trevor Zegras botched a 2-on-0 breakaway with a superfluous pass attempt to Cam Fowler, and the Penguins scored in transition on a 2-on-1 attack in which Sidney Crosby fed Jake Guentzel for the game winner.
The Ducks, who rank last in the NHL both in goals per game and goals against average are playing the second game of a six-game road trip. Back on Dec. 2 in Anaheim, the Flyers skated to a 4-1 win. Joel Farabee, Morgan Frost, Travis Konecny and Scott Laughton scored for the Flyers. Samuel Ersson carried a shutout bid for 59-plus minutes before Ryan Strome scored with 40 seconds left in the game to cut the final margin to 4-1.
