Game 67 Preview: Flyers vs. Maple Leafs

The Philadelphia Flyers (34-24-8) will host the Toronto Maple Leafs (37-19-4) on Thursday evening. Game time at the Wells Fargo Center is 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The Flyers enter Thursday's game coming off a 3-2 home win against the San Jose Sharks. Morgan Frost earned First Star honors with a power play goal and a gorgeous long-range saucer pass assist on a Joel Farabee breakaway goal. Owen Tippett netted the game-winner in the third period. Konecny and Cam York produced two assists apiece. Samuel Ersson stopped 27 of 29 shots to earn the victory.

Flyers head coach John Tortorella will serve the second and final game of an NHL suspension in Thursday's game. Associate coach Brad Shaw and assistant coach Rocky Thompson will work together in running the bench again for this game.

Toronto has had four nights off since their last game. They are coming off a 3-2 road win against the Montreal Canadiens this past Saturday. John Tavares broke a 2-2 deadlock in the third period with the game-winning goal. Bobby McMann and Max Domi (1g, 1a) tallied in the second period as the Leafs pushed back from a 1-0 deficit to take a temporary 2-1 lead. Ilya Samsonov made 29 saves for the win.

Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner will not be available to play in this game. He is day-to-day with a lower-body injury suffered last Thursday in a game against Boston. He missed Saturday's game against the Canadiens and will miss at least one additional match.
