Let's start off today with a feel-good moment from a future Canuck:

According to the KHL website, "The teenage forward has joined with local volunteers to ensure that elderly residents of the city get food delivered to their homes."

How's your Russian? Apparently he's encouraging others to help where they can in this Instagram post.

After seeing limited ice time in the KHL during the early part of the season, Podkolzin's fortunes improved dramatically when he got back to Russia after World Juniors.

SKA St. Petersburg finished up the regular season in second place in the KHL's West Division, one point behind leaders CSKA Moscow.

Podkolzin finished up with 2-6-8 in 30 regular-season KHL games, averaging just 8:59 of ice time per game. In the playoffs, though, he saw his ice time jump to 14:25 per game and had a goal and two assists in a four-game first-round sweep against Vityaz, which finished off with a 3-2 triple-overtime win.

All told, it seems like Podkolzin took some positive steps in his development this season — and like he has a big heart and a strong sense of what's important.

Next up — Quinn Hughes, who's home in Michigan and will be featured on the NHL's "Brothers" series, which premieres in Canada on social media on Tuesday, and will be on Sportsnet on Friday.

The Tkachuks and the Staals will also be featured.

Speaking of brothers — the Sedins' jersey retirement night got the win in its first-round matchup in the NHL's "Greatest Moments" social media game. In Round 2, they'll eventually be up against the Blues raising their first-ever Stanley Cup banner. The brackets are now shifting to the Eastern Conference for the next few days.

Next up — thanks again for all the recommendations and advice on preparing those ribs! In the end, I elected not to throw them in the oven after the Instant Pot, so they might not have been as crispy on the outside as if they'd been broiled. But they certainly did fall off the bone, as promised, and made for a couple of tasty dinners!

If you're into more food talk, you should definitely check out Dan Murphy's latest mini-mailbag:

Murph always keeps it light — and I have to admit, his "soy glazed pork ribs/pulled pork sandwiches with home made BBQ sauce and avocado slaw," also with Instant Pot influences, sound like they'd kick butt over what I came up with.

Also in the mailbag, an update on Chris Tanev's ear which, you might recall, was being held together by tape not so long ago.

To wrap up today — a couple of options to help keep you entertained.

SiriusXM satellite radio is offering a no-strings-attached free trial from now until May 15, so I signed up for that the other day. You can listen on your computer or mobile devices as well as in your car, and they have a massive library of music and talk that goes way beyond just Howard Stern — including the NHL Network channel which continues to crank out new content daily and feature calls of classic games.

I've been shuffling through the channels a bit over the last few days — I liked the Tom Petty channel, which was playing Petty and Petty-adjacent music.

If you're a Tom Brady fan, apparently he's making his first-ever appearance on Howard Stern's show on Wednesday, so that might be worth checking out...

Finally — if you're looking for more tools to help deal with anxiety during these crazy times, the folks at Calm, which I really like, have unlocked a bunch of their content.

I also have a code for 30 days' free access to the full app. Click here to check it out.
