We now know that Kirill Kaprizov is able to sign with the Wild and burn the first of his 2-year entry level deal, but will be unable to play this Summer when the NHL resumes play.

Now it becomes decision time for both Kaprizov and the Wild. Is getting Kaprizov for 1 year of play prior to his becoming an RFA and requiring a big raise and a longer term deal if the Wild can agree to such or not?

The long awaited arrival of the Wild's best prospect since Marian Gaborik has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride and this development at least gives some certainty to the situation yet no clear answer. Either way Bill Guerin has a mountain of a decision to make.

The other big development from the tentative CBA agreement is the cap recapture ammendmrnt that would help the Wild greatly if one or both of Zach Parise or Ryan Suter were forced to retire or traded prior to the completion of their current long term contracts. The ammendment makes the potential salary cap charge to be no more than the AAV of the contract. So in Parise and Suter's case that would be $7.538 million per year until the overage is paid in full.

This is significant indeed for the Wild as the cap recapture penalties that the Wild would have incurred would have .ade their cap situation an absolute nightmare for many years to come.
