Jake isn't yet healthy now, and sources tell me the Penguins are having some serious internal debates on what to do with Jake Guentzal. As opposed to many other players on the rumor chart, Jake is a player teams could be looking more toward the future.,...as opposed to as a rental to help in a playoff run. This puts the Montreal. Canadiens in the perfect position to make a run at Guentzal. I haven't heard the Vegas Golden Knights mentioned yet officially, which is why they aren't on my rumor chart, yet when it comes to Jake, I'm starting to hear murmurs that they could actually be involved.

The Devils main target is still Jacob Markstrom, but Vatrano is out there, and reasonably priced for the scorer he has become,. I know he had a hard time in the playoffs scoring for the Rangers, but prior to that in Florida, he was quite a clutch scorer.

The biggest issue, holding up a trade here appears to be Calgary unwillingness too eat any salary, however, I am hearing the Montréal Canadiens could become the third-party in this deal to facilitate a trade.
On Thomas Novak...
National Predators would love to extend him, as he's become one of the better snipers on the team as of late. Whoever I've heard the Buffalo Sabres really like this kid, and would love to make a big offer. The fact this offer might be out there may make it more difficult for the Preds to get the deal done.
