The Philadelphia Flyers have named Alain Vigneault as their new head coach.
The 57-year-old has been involved in NHL coaching roles since the early-90s, and was most recently with the New York Rangers. Vigneault led the Rangers to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final in his first on Broadway, and compiled a 226-147-37 record before the Rangers fired him following a non-qualifying 2017-18 season featuring a 34-39-9 record.
Overall, Vigneault has 16 years of head coaching experience in the NHL, and has the 12th-most wins in league history, with 648 between the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, and Rangers.
