I apologize for this post coming out so late today, But I’ve been on the phone for hours digging and here’s what I got…it was worth it…its a REALLY fun Rumor…
Yes Mr. Allen….a three-way deal….involving Ottawa, The New York Rangers, and Chicago..
I’ve been trying to nail down as many specifics as possible but obviously in these kind of things ther are far more moving targets… One phone call can change for pieces…
Here’s what have found out so far…
Since specific names are hard to comw by , I am going to expound on this by starting with what I hear each team is looking to accomplish with a deal…
The New York Rangers:
The Rangers need some cap space and help in their own end.. a strong shutdown D-man to sweep the porch, Igor…They would also Ike a PK specialist so they don't have to play Fox all the time Also, they would NEED to get a first-round draft pick. The Rangers don’t intend to hold that pick…Druzy is very much in WIN now mode, So that pick from Chicago or Ottawa would likely be used for a top-six forward at the trading deadline. The Rangers would really like to grab Pinto in this trade from Ottawa. But from what I’ve heard so far it doesn’t look very possible.
Chicago:
With Taylor Hall’s injury, there’s definitely some concern in regards to getting a skilled player to play alongside Connor Bedard. Chicago picked up some extra draft picks last year at the deadline and is rumored to be trying to use a couple to grab Alexis LaFreniere to play alongside Bedard. I’m told Bedard, himself, really likes the way Alexis plays and feels it could really complement his game… One source heard that there had been some discussion surrounding Pinto going to Chicago…
Ottawa:
The Senators NEED to clear some Cap space and would very much like a defensive Dmen, a prospect and a pick…They are trying to sign Pinto. They would much prefer signing him than moving him I’m told….
