We are truly witnessing NHL history being made this season....and in ways we haven't witnessed since Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux were skating in this league...

Connor McDavid has 96 points now in 52 Games, while Auston Matthews has 40 goals in 53 games. The watch is on to see if McDavid can do the unthinkable: score 100 points in this shortened 56 game season...

Were we to calculate these numbers out to a normal 82 game season the numbers become staggering... McDavid would be on pace for 151 points, and Matthews 62 goals.

The Last player to eclipse 150 points in the NHL was Mario Lemieux, in 1995-96. In fact, only Kucherov has passed 120 points in the last ten years.

As for Matthews... ONLY Ovechkin's 65 in 2007-08 and Stamkos' 60 in 2011-12 have crossed the 60 goal mark in the last 25 years...

Which player's accomplishments are greater this season?
