For one night, the Flyers found their old game and managed to win one for G.

Claude Giroux wants to stay a Flyer. I know this to be true. 100%. But he also knows the economics of this team next year and beyond. If anyone would try and make it work it would be Claude… But in the end, his last true great play as a Flyer may be allowing them to trade him.

With rumors swirling everywhere, it really feels like a two horse race as to where Giroux plays his next NHL game. It has been back and forth, neck and neck all week, but as of this writing I strongly believe that the Claude Giroux will be joining the Florida Panthers….

Of course it ain’t over till its over and there were many points this past week that the Avalanche felt they were closing in on #28.

And the Wild and Blues have looked into this…

But Florida appears closest to getting this done….and the Panthers have shown a strong propensity for making deals since Bill Zito took the reigns..

Will it happen tonight?

Very possibly… I know talking to some of the teams involved that they respectfully all told the Flyers that Claude should play his 1000th game before anything was finalized…That is the respect Giroux demands…

But the Flyers talked to teams about Giroux right up until game time…

To be clear…I am hearing Florida and Philly haven’t completed ANYTHING. In fact there is every possibility it falls apart or they sleep on it…Both sides need to be happy with this deal. Right now…I don’t believe they are.. Anything is possible.

So now….we wait…
