Hockey Digest’s “Who is Better:” Mikko Rantanen or Mitch Marner? |

In the spirit of my favorite Hockey Digest Article, we are back today with another “Who is better?”
We all remember recently when Mitch Marner was asked to waive his No Trade Clause to be moved to Carolina for Mike Rantanen… the first thought that came to my head at the time was that isn’t Marner a better player?
So let’s look at it…
* As far as offense goes, Marner is a much better playmaker, Rantanen has been a better scorer..
* Both play on the first power play, but Marner also plays on the penalty kill.
* Marner is a much better defensive forward than Rantanen.
* As far as the playoffs go, Rantanen has seen much more success.
* From an attitude perspective and team leader, I’d put Marner about Mikko.
* Salaries should be about equal starting next year…very high.
My pick: I think Mitch Marner is the better player
