I am finishing up the final players before launching the Rumor Chart for this summer, and one of the players who is going to be 100% on the Rumor Chart is Nazim Kadri...

In my discussions with various teams around the NHL the same question keeps coming up time and time again. Would you take a chance on Nazim Kadri?

The responses have varied....

One Assistant GM out west says, "Absolutley. He has made some bad decisions, but there is plenty of value out there. Look around the NHL playoffs right now. One of the common factors is the value of players with sandpaper. Kadri's emotions have gotten the best of him one time too many for Dubas, but a trade and a new home may be able to fix that."

Another team, a guy in the Leafs own division noted, "It was a lame move, but we'd take him in a hearbeat. We play against him all the time and he is a royal pain in the ass...but you'd love to have him being a pain for others."

On NHL source said, "I think the interest is declining quickly. But it's a deal the Leafs will have to make, even if the value is artificially low. I don't see ANY way Kyle can sell his return."

Another team said, "Wouldn't touch him. No way. We have a particularly young team (as you know) and we are working on our culture. He would be a step backwards."

In my opinion, Kadri is gone, and the Leafs will get a lot more than the NHL source said. I do agree that sandpaper is something on the rise. Look at the Tom Wilson contract and impact. Wilson was one of the better Caps this season. In the short term Kadri's actions just KILLED the Leafs, but long term he may have done them a bit of a favor.

To get Marner and Kapanen and defensive help signed something had to give and Kadri is a very expensive third line center who can kill you with his lack of discipline...Outside of Toronto, Kadri is probably a second/third line center...

Where could he go?

Talking to some teams, I will give you an early sneak peak at the Rumor Chart...

KADRI
Probability to start the 2019-2020 Season
Leafs 15%
Flames 25%
Canucks 20%
Oilers 20% (could rise or fall when Hunter/DJ Smith take over)
Anaheim 10%
Winnipeg 10%

What's the Buzz?

Would you take a chance on Kadri?

Coming Up...

My picks for the series starting tonight...and the Rumor Chart Launch...
