Jiricek was dealt last night to Minnesota....Columbus gets a first-round pick in the 2025, third and fourth round picks in the 2026 and a second-round pick in the 2027.
Quite a nice haul in my opinion for a player who was often a healthy scratch...however, thats probably not fair as this kid has quite a pedigree and defensemen take longer to develop....
Next up is an entirely different defenseman Ivan Provirov, Where Jiricek was drawing attention from a lot of teams who also weren't in contention, the feeling on the older Provorovis that the pending UFA will be courted by teams either in contention or teams expecting to be in contention...And according to two sources..Winnipeg and the NY Rangers are teams who are looking hard at giving up their first and more to add the experienced, and versatile defender...
Meanwhile, the Rangers are looking very traderish still...The big fish, and a player I would NOT trade were I Chris Drury, is Ryan Lindgren. He adds a ton of toughness and the Rangers seem to forget they needed players like him not too long ago...Tampa, Carolina and Toronto all have interest as they gear up for matchups with Florida in the playoffs...
