The saga of Johnny Hockey has been long and complicated...

This South Jersey Native was assumed all but gone when the year began in Calgary, and yet no one player has benefited more from Sutter's system than Johnny Gaudreau. This season is the first season he is again putting up serious numbers since his 99 point campaign in 18-19. His 43 points in 35 games is only 6 less points than he put up in 56 games last year. That is 21 more games last year to basically get the same production.

That puts Gaudreau at 12th in points in the NHL, but perhaps more impressive is that he is 10th in the entire NHL in +/-, at +20.

The flat cap also plays into this, as this summer there may not be many teams able to offer up the kind ion contract he will want..And right now, its hard to argue he fits on any team better than he does the Flames...

This is why sources are now telling me an extension in Calgary is a growing possibility...

Trouble in NJ and Philly....

Last night the Devils fell to the Coyotes and word is that time may be running out on Lindy Ruff. Meanwhile, the Flyers have dropped 9 straight and tonight host Columbus in what must one considered a must-win for Coach Yeo.... I have heard both teams are poking around at other coaches and Paul Maurice could be one of the possibilities....And of course, as I've stated before, many at Comcast in Philly are canvassing for Rick Tocchet to bring "Flyers Hockey" back to Philly...
