The big breaking news at this hour in the NHL is Minnesota Wild star Kirell Kaprizov will have to undergo surgery to repair the nagging injury that has already cost him time this year.. He will miss the next four weeks at least for the Minnesota Wild.

This is a tough break for the Wild, who are having their best season in years ….This is interesting because he won’t be back until after the trade deadline, which means his time on LTIR could get the Wild some space and could lead to themperhaps adding a pie ce here or there….

Kaprizov is going into his final year next season of his $9M contract and is definitely the face of the franchise. The Wild have already come out and said that they will offer more than anyone else in the NHL can as soon as they’re allowed to negotiate with him come July 1.
