Mark Giordano is an out and out leader who will go through walls for his teammates. His experience and attitude have him right up there with Ben Chiarot in the deadline sweepstakes game right now. Some say they value Gio even higher.
Who is interested? One name will give Flames fans the nightsweats...
Edmonton:
The Oilers are in free fall. Changes are coming. I am hearing Tippett is in big trouble and there is no doubt that Ken Holland is looking to upgrade the goalie position. Last night's debacle against the league-leading Rangers was a last straw of sorts. Holland is not only looking to upgrade in net, but also in their own end.
Calgary:
The Flames would love Gio back and they still are one of the top teams in Cup Contention. Giordano is unquestionably a Sutter player.
NY Rangers:
They are flying high and are looking at Chiarot for sure, but Gallant has liked Giordano since he was in Vegas, where he tried a few times to push for a trade...
Florida:
The Panthers are close, and they are an offensive powerhouse, but there have been some cracks in their own zone since the removal of Quenneville. GM Zito has a brief history, but an impressive one at finding needs and filling them.
NY Islanders:
Lou Lamoriello is NOT in rebuild mode. The Isles sit in last place, but they have only lost 2 games in regulation in their last ten. There are signs they are pulling out of this in their last two wins. Lou knows the Islanders need transitional D-men...
Toronto
The Leafs are looking to make one big move to sure up their own end. it won't be easy, but they will upgrade...

How much would you give up for Giordano?
