Kane had a monstrous playoffs and may have played himself out of Edmonton. Evander Kane’s stock may never be higher, but can Edmonton keep him? I could see Kane signing for a little less in Edmonton, but not much…Toronto has had interest in the past, but would have to move out Nylander. Montreal is a solid possibility, and the Kings are also rumored to be poking around…
On Mason Marchment…
Marchment has a lot of value and was a major player in Florida, and is unique among available UFAs in that he is a physical force who can score big goals. Florida wants to keep him, and he likes it there, but Philly, Boston, and Detroit may drive the price up.
On Letang…
The Penguins are really up against it, and some are saying they may be resigned to letting Letang go…Vancouver is in the market for a top tier defenseman big time, Calgary, Seattle and Winnipeg will all be involved as well. I believe that Seattle would have to go five years, where everyone else could probably get three..
His name keeps coming up in trade rumors…The Predators are an interesting possibility..
On Ilya Mikheyev…
The Leafs like him of course, but the local rivals in Buffalo are also rumored to be VERY intrigued…
On Claude Giroux..
The Senators look like the slight favorite, but don’t count out a return to Florida OR a return to Philly…. Giroux’s love of Philly is reminiscent of Patrick Marleau with San Jose..
On Klingberg…
Dallas will not be bringing him back. The Devils, Capitals, Canucks and Senators are the early favorites…
