Talked to a source this morning and as I reported was planned, Bettman and Fehr have resumed discussions. It's not easy, but I am confident a deal can get done here..I am still hearing the teams won't likely play more than 48 games and mid-January to mid-February is our start date. I think that with all the stress in the world right now you can should be able to NOT stress about this right now.
So let's talk rumors!
And the real sign that this will get done is the fact that rumors are starting to slowly pick up again. Teams are bringing back players on loan to Europe slowly....but the process has started.
On Johnny Gaudreau...
I am really surprised we aren't hearing more Gaudreau rumors right now in other media outlets, because I am hearing quite a bit, with one source telling me "The Flames have to move him this year, preferably before the return to play."
There are as many as six teams out there who have talked to Calgary...and yes Philly is one of them, however I am not getting any sense that the Flyers are the favorite in this...There are two teams that I keep hearing more and more....The Islanders and Canadiens....Both teams would need to clear space and or make some very tough calls...But both teams have a ton of interest...
Edmonton and Marc-Andre Fleury...
This simply won't die and I feel a goalie would go back to Vegas in the deal for sure...It may not happen prior to the start of the season...in fact I am quite sure it won't, but this will be a big part of the trade deadline...
