Six Teams Kicking Tires On Free Agent Van Riemsdyk |

James van Riemsdyk reached Silver Stick status last season as a member of the Boston Bruins. While it's not something that many fans pay attention to, the 1,000-game milestone in the NHL is something that players truly covet. In fact, among individual milestones, it means more to most players than trophies voted on by the media.
It's not a lock that JVR will continue with his playing career now that reached 1,000 games but he'd still love to play in a Stanley Cup Final for the first time since he was a rookie with the 2009-10 Flyers. More important: He'd love to play close to home, whether it is in Minnesota (where van Riemsdyk and his wife now makes their permanent home) or his native New Jersey.
I've heard the Devils are one of six teams that would have interest in JVR playing on a one-season deal. The Wild are still a possibility. So is a return to the Bruins. Other potential destinations if playing close to home doesn't work out:Anaheim, Tampa, Vegas.
