Happy Holiday Monday Hockey World.

I was making my final calls today to sources as I update the rumor chart....And I got some more info regarding yesterday's blog.

"Mathew Barzal is VERY much on the LA Kings radar," a source told me, "and unlike what you wrote yesterday (I wrote that the Isles may be testing to see how much he wants to stay) I 've heard that he may want to be a King."

There is also a very-under-the-radar ongoing dialogue between the Leafs and the Flyers surrounding Nylander. Fletcher has ALWAYS loved Nylander, to the point that a deal almost occurred that would have sent Nylander to the Wild just minutes prior to Nylander signing his deal with the Leafs a few Decembers ago.

The Leafs keep saying they are going into this season as is, and I am told Dubas wants to stick with Nylander. However, there is pressure from above from Shanahan that the defense and defense coming from the forward positions are too shaky... There are people in Toronto who really love Flyers D-man, Travis Sanheim.

The Flyers are also feeling very uncertain about their ability to put the puck in the net. Nylander could fix a lot and perhaps jump start Giroux..

I would only out the chances of this happening at around 10-15%, but it won't take long into the season to see this as a very real scenario. They have simply had too many conversations to ignore that.
