As noted on the updated Rumor Chart, the Detroit Red Wings are the team currently making the heaviest push to land Jacob Trouba from what I've been hearing from my sources.
The ball is in Trouba's court, of course, because he has a 15-team no-trade clause and he is putting staying near his wife as she finishes her medical residency as the biggest factor in where he would -- and would NOT -- be willing to accept a trade.
That's a bit of an uphill climb for the Red Wings to a) work a trade the Rangers would accept as reasonably fair value, and b) convince Trouba to relocate his in-season home base from New York to Michigan. Trouba has two seasons remaining on his current contract at an $8 million cap hit.
