Columbus PD: Jake Allen Wanted For Theft Of Two Points

The Columbus Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of a Canadian citizen accused of stealing two points at Nationwide Arena on Monday night. The suspect, Jake Allen, 34, currently of Newark, New Jersey area, is believed to have acted alone in this crime. The Caucasian male stands at 6’2” and weighs approximately 200lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing black mask, large leg pads and a white long sleeve shirt with a red tale and horns, believed to be affiliated with the infamous New Jersey Devils. This dangerous gang often travels in groups of 20 or more and may call Allen by his alias, “Snake”.
If you believe you have seen this individual, please do not approach him as he may be armed with a very dangerous glove hand as well as a lethal poke check. Instead call Columbus PD immediately at 867-5309.

What an effort by Jake Allen. The Devils were outshot 38-15 in the final forty minutes of the game, including a 24-3 margin in the third period. A desperate Bluejackets team bombarded Allen who made 45 stops on the night to steal the W for the Devils. With Jacob Markstrom struggling since his return, the stellar play of Allen is just what NJ needs.

Quick Hits:
⁃ A win is a win, but backing into it the way the Devils did on Monday is not at all a recipe for success. Take that win and move on, but be better next time. Good thing Tracy Morgan wasn’t sitting in row one…(too soon?)
⁃ Jesper Bratt has 10 points in his last four games for NJ. Now with 60 assists on the season, Bratt has tied Scott Stevens single season club record for helpers. The 26 year old winger has been nothing short of spectacular, since being drafted in the sixth round in 2016. It’s very early, but #63 very well could be the next number raised to the rafters at the Rock.
⁃ It’s March, do you know what that means? Timo Time! A whopping 18 of Timo Meier’s 48 goals the last two seasons have come in March. This time of the year, where the games intensify and the ice gets smaller, Timo gets bigger. He’s an absolute bull and will pay major dividends for NJ for years to come.
⁃ The deadline addition of Cody Glass keeps paying dividends. The GLASSMAN has proven to be a very cost efficient, add by GM Tom Fitzgerald. With five points (2G, 3A) and a +5 rating over his first five games with NJ, Glass has been a steadying force at center. After all, adds like a Shawn Chambers, Pascal Rheaume, or Jim McKenzie are just as important to a winning team as the Neal Broten, Alex Mogilny and Jeff Friesen type.
