Jets take on Golden Knights; Big game in playoff push

Tuesday night's game against the Vegas Golden Knights may just be one of the most important games of the season so far, for the Winnipeg Jets. With a regulation win tonight, the Jets will move to within 2 points of Vegas' second Wild Card position in the West.

After a great game against the St. Louis Blues, the Jets second line will be coming into this game looking for more action on the scoresheet. The Connor-Dubois-Ehlers line was by far the best trio to lace up in the last game, for either team. The line combined for 7 points, as well as 5 shots each. The line was leading the charge, and will be again tonight.

With Lehner, Stone, among other injured, now is the perfect time to take advantage of VGK's playoff chances.

Andrew Copp left Sunday's game with an upper-body injury after a collision with Sundqvist, likely being concussed again with just 8 days to go until the deadline. Not something you want to see for Copp, or the Jets team, who had him as a prize piece for the upcoming Deadline.

With Elhers just returning, as well as Copp himself, this team has struggled to keep a healthy group all season. While this may play a part in their current position outside the playoffs, it certainly can't be the scapegoat.

The Jets have started to turn things around, though. As I mentioned above, the Jets can pull within 2 points of a playoff spot tonight, and even within 6 points of 3rd in the Central, which is currently held by a struggling Minnesota Wild team. Things will get a big questionable should we see the Jets win tonight and Friday against the Bruins. With the Jets close to the playoffs, does Cheveldayoff continue the path as a seller? Or keep guys like Stastny, Harkins, Copp and whoever else we have talked about moving on from. It will be a tough call to make, and while I still believe that a re-tool will be a great decision, it is hard to be so close to playoffs (where almost anything can happen) and turn around and sell your pieces.

It will be an interesting 6 days leading up to the deadline, and while things have been quiet so far, it wounds like it may stay this way. Lots of credible sources have confirmed that there is not a ton of chatter going on, and by the sounds of things the Manson to Colorado deal happened pretty quick. All anything takes is one phone call sometimes, so don't count anything out until 3pm EST on Monday, but as of now things sound quiet.

Let me know what your thoughts are, and where the Jets should focus should they move closer and closer to the playoffs. I hope you have a great day!
