Coyotes Finally Score Some Goals

The Coyotes beat the Blackhawks last night 4-1 in what was, ironically, their worst game of the season so far.

They did score some goals though, so that was pretty sweet.

The Hawks controlled most of the play, something that the Coyotes have done in all their other games so far this year, but it did not matter.

After a bizarre five game streak without goals at even strength to start the year, the Coyotes scored three last night on their way to a sweet victory against the Hawks.

Of course it was ex-Hawk Vinnie Hinostroza who did most of the damage, scoring twice. One of which was an empty netter.

Hinostroza, along with Grabner and Richardson were all in the 60% possession range, and they were the only line all night that did anything consistently.

The worst player on the ice for the Coyotes was Goligoski who looked terrible. Goligoski was destroyed by the Toews Debrincat line, and only a strong game by Raanta allowed the Coyotes to escape with a victory. The stats for Goligoski for the year are surprisingly strong, but he fails the eye test constantly. To me he looks like he might be done, but I've said that before and he usually rounds into shape.

If not for the fact that Corey Crawford hasn't played a game since last Christmas, the Coyotes probably wouldn't have won, but we'll take it.

The four goals on the night match the four goals the Coyotes scored across their first five games. Somehow they are now 2-3 on the season.

The Coyotes will play the Jets tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully Alex Galchenyuk will make his season and Coyotes debut.

Hands up if you had Lawson Crouse as the first Coyotes to score 5v5 this year?

Good times!
