The Rangers rookies split a pair of games against their Flyers counterparts this weekend. Of course, the contests barely created a ripple on New York's twitter or on the team's website, Training camp opens in earnest this week, at which point we should see information.

Lineup game 2:

I will discuss the games briefly, but let me touch on the point I made in the intro. The team invites the rookies in for a training camp. They no longer are playing in the Traverse City tournament, instead, scheduling these two games against Philly. Then, nothing. No game stream, as the contests were on the Flyers site using what looked like a handheld cameras based on the quality of the video. In addition, nothing on the team's twitter, save for a picture of the jerseys of the three alternate (fixed from original) captains the first game, and zero on the website. Embarrassing and a bad message sent as to the importance to the players and the fanbase.

The Rangers won the first game 4-3 in a shootout. Adam Edström, who was the team's best forward by far, scored twice in the contest. Kalle Väisänen scored the additional goal, deflecting a beautiful pass from Adam Sýkora. Brenann Othma scored the game winner in a shootout, giving Dylan Garand the victory.

New York fell 3-2 in Game 2. Matthew Robertson tallied the team's first of the contest with Edström notching the second shorthanded. Brett Berard was noticeable again, getting under the skin of the Flyers in both contests.

Overall, Edström and Victor Mancini were the two best Blueshirts in the two games, Edström most certainly helped his stock heading into training camp while Mancini could see more ice time in pre-season games as an evaluation tool.
