There’s not much to write on this. Blow off steam, point on the positives and move on. Gustafsson feels like a mistake. Send Copp to Grand Rapids and bring up Kasper. The wide open misses by Detroit were painful, but New York has had Detroit’s number for a while.

Yes, 4 games in we’ve played a potential cup finalist twice, Nashville (shutout by Talbot) and Pittsburgh. Regardless there seems to be no system and all the good will Detroit managed last year seems to be slipping. This was painful to watch and I doubt anyone on the team feels good about what’s going on.

A friend suggested a coaching change, grab “Q” and send LaLonde packing. There is no system, there is no fluidity, and the team needs someone to grab the reins and not worry about hurting feelings. This is all opinion. Tonight was a rough night for the team.

1st Period Detroit goals:

8:30 into the first, on the Ranger’s first shot they score 1-0 NYR. Wings can’t score on 7 tries.

With 4:21 left, Panarin scores again on the power play. 2-0 NYR.

Shots: 12-9 DET
Score: 2-0 NYR

2nd Period Detroit goals:

Seider managed to get the team within 1 with his first of the year after a feed from Raymond found Compher who caught Seider skating in. The Dman got his first of the year.

New York responded with 3 more goals

Shots: 23-18 NYR
Score: 5-1 NYR

3rd Period Detroit goals:

With 3:41 left, Compher made the loss slightly less painful as he stood to the side of the net and tipped a pass from Chiarot on the power play. 5-2 NYR

Shots: 34-31 NYR
Score: 5-2 NYR
