I wanted to take a step back to salute the career of Patrick Kane amidst potentially his best statistical year ever.
#88 is on pace for 47 goals, 65 assists and 112 points. This would surpass his 106 Hart Trophy year in 2015-16. "OMG and he’s doing this all without Panarin?" Yes. Because Patrick Kane is amazing and has changed the history of this franchise, at times, almost singlehandedly.
So why was this so hard to write if he’s such an amazing talent with so many accolades? Well, there’s almost too much and it was hard to categorize. Therefore, I’ve taken a different approach and below is a Patrick Timothy Kane II’s resume – just like anyone of us would use when applying for a job – except Kaner’s is legendary.

Need more? Ya, I didn’t think so.

Who wouldn’t hire this guy?
Joking aside, I think we take Kane for granted sometime and I know the Hawks are in a tough “rebuilding” time right now, but I think trading this guy or even considering trading this guy is crazy at this point.
Sure, he’d get big return but that’s because teams are seeing the same thing most of us are seeing; a guy who’s 30 years old and on the verge of a career year.
I think there are other moves to make before getting “rid” of Patrick. He could have 4-5 more great years left in him and if that’s the case, Stan(!), retool in the next couple years and let’s get Kaner back on the ice in the playoffs where he truly shines.
Let me know your favourite Kaner story and whether you think he will end his career as a Blackhawk.
